Addi (Tigrinya ዓዲ ʿĀddīTigreGe'ez ዓድ ʿĀd) is a Tigrinya term meaning "village" derived from the Ge'ez word "Ad" meaning "son." The word can be found in many village and city names in Tigray RegionEthiopia and Tigre and Tigrinya-speaking Eritrea.
